In 2022, a renowned sugar industry company contacted Europelec to address an aeration deficit problem in its lagoon. The 40 hydro-ejectors, powered by a pump and injecting air into the lagoon via a venturi effect in each hydro-ejector, were not satisfactory in terms of aeration. Most of the hydro-ejectors were getting clogged due to a distribution network sizing issue, leading to a significant pressure loss in the circuit flow. The entire installation resulted in high maintenance costs in addition to elevated electricity consumption.
To resolve this situation, the Erstein site replaced the existing system with six low speed surface aerators of 30 kW from Europelec, known in the market for their robustness and efficiency. This energy-efficient solution aimed at improving oxygenation performance now allows for optimal water aeration and reduces the risk of odor nuisance on-site.
More than a year after this installation and satisfied with their previous collaboration, the industrial company again turned to Europelec for a rental service this time. The finishing lagoon had a COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) rate that was too high, prompting a rental request for high speed surface aerators to solve the problem and ensure an adequate discharge threshold into the natural environment in the long term.
Europelec proposed a complete turnkey service. Thanks to a rental fleet of over 200 aerators sloour teams delivered and installed three high speed surface aerators of 37 kW, as well as a generator set with a diesel fuel tank and electrical boxes, within a very short time. The service also includes maintenance and regular fuel delivery.
